Profile Question 1When and why did you decide to go into a science career?
-
Answer the question you selected for profile question 1 here (300 words):I have loved science since I was a small child, but could not afford college. After my divorce, I needed a career to support my daughter and myself. With financial aid, I was able to persue a degree in biological sciences, which is the next best thing available at my institution to my true love- plant biology.

Profile Question 2What is your favorite plant? Why?
-
Answer the question you selected for profile question 2 here (300 words):Venus flytraps are high ranking on my list of carnivorous plants, but I have too many favorite plants in various genuses to list them all. My favorite flowering plants would have to be members of Solanaceae (nightshades), particularly daturas.
