It can be frustrating when some plants in an experiment start to die, but I'm glad that some of them have survived. Plus- seed pods developing- that's exciting! What analyses are you planning to do once you have finished your data collection? Looking forward to hearing more of your observations and your results!

Thanks for uploading the pictures- it's great to see what you're seeing! I'm intrigued by your potential next experiment which you discuss. Potatoes and apples are not in the same plant family, but, like you mention, it could be interesting to study some things that are more closely related to potato and see what happens! Interestingly, even though they are both called potato, and are structurally similar, the sweet potato is in a different plant family than the potato. So it would be fun to try with that, as well as something potentially that is in the same plant family as potato, like green pepper. It could be that the rot will more easily infect things that are more closely related in terms of evolution. But that's just my hypothesis- perhaps I'll have to test it! :)
