Good bye Thank you to everyone taking part in this inquiry. It was great fun to bring you, your teacher, and your scientist mentor together online. Your project was very interesting to read about and discuss! We hope your research gave you a glimpse into how science works. There are many unanswered questions about plants----just waiting for young investigators to explore. We hope you are going away with the confidence that you can take on new scientific challenges. Best wishes for the remainder of your school year! Sincerely, The PlantingScience team |

results Hey, I saw your uploaded journal, but do you guys think you could summarize your results for me? Which plants were bigger/grew faster, had more leaves, that kind of thing? Also, what did you guys do for Halloween? |

Project Wrap Up As this project begins to wind down you need to consider a few things. 1. What have you discovered about the effects of Powerade on the growth rate of beans? 2. Do you think that you can generalize this about all seeds? 3. What additional questions come to mind about this project that you didn't answer or what new questions arose as the project moved along? 4. If you were going to do this project again, what would you do differently? Why? |

We used Mung beans so we expected results quite quickly. We should have pictures up soon so you can see our system and how the plants are constantly being watered instead of manually waterring them. |

cool That's pretty cool you're seeing results so soon. How much powerade do you water them with? Maye I should try this at home!, but I'll wait to see what the final outcome is :) |

Hey I am surprised what happened so far. The powerade seeds are sprouting more rapid and efficant so far |

Im not sure what our team names from. The person who gave us the idea has been ISS (In School Suppension). And we don't have to water because of the system we set up. The system we set up is hard to explain but we should have a picture of it up soon. We just set it up yesterday. So the only thing we noticed is the soil is beggining to become damp. |

powerade I like your experimental design, it's good that you've got it laid out step by step. How much powerade vs water do you think you'll be adding to each treatment, and how often will you watre (or powerade), them? |

Hello team I am happy to welcome you to this community of plant researchers. Your team has the opportunity to communicate directly with a scientist who will help you focus your ideas as you develop your research question and experimental design. Your scientist mentor is Kevin Barry from University of Maryland. Please introduce yourself and post some possible research topic ideas to get a conversation rolling. Best wishes as you embark on this scientific journey. We are all pleased to share this experience with you. Have fun! Jennifer Potratz and the PlantingScience team |
